BCI Sleep Trackers

Catering to the new trend of quantified self, as well as one of growing health concerns, individuals require more accurate information of their sleep habits.  The research focused on the EEG-based headbands, which make use of neuro technology to monitor the brain activities when users are in the stages of sleeping. Even though such kind of gadgets manage to go mainstream, the technology is in very early stage. Also, the product experience are vague.

The overall goal of this project was to explore the online discussion of people's experiences on three main sleep trackers: NeuroOn, Sleep Shepherd Blue and Zeo Sleep Manger, and present the meaningful findings, including a list of 17 features and a list of 9 potential issues. The outcomes indicate how consumer BCI produce more desirable results and create more effective experience for general users.
