The  Symbol

This was the assessment of Designing Interactions that required students to develop a Multi-Platform Event (MPE). THE SYMBOL project was designed for the students in school and university who carelessly give away their personal information that could be misused in a way that’s bad for themselves. The project made use of multiple visual elements, such as scene setting and gameplay interface design, to deliver a creepy experience to the participants. The game started with a lost USB with a name tag in the library. Players need to email the owner and try to find out what happen to the missing girl, Thana Mallory, who studied cryptography and symbolism at the university. Participants were required to have simple cipher knowledge to encrypt the message left by Thana, and use the clues on her Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to open a password-locked PDF document.
